Pencils Help Us Get Back to School

Pencils Help Us Get Back to School

Today we are doing our homework! It is back to school time and everyone is getting prepared.

I have created two quick back to school items using one file from the Pazzles Craft Room. I am using the Pencil file to help both the teacher and student! (This file saves with the title SCHOOL PENCIL.)

A note “FOR” the teacher. I found an over-sized clothespin at the craft store. Mine measures just under 5 inches in length and over 1 inch in width.

I used my Pazzles software to draw a rectangle representing the clothespin. Then I placed the rectangle on top of Pencil file, and re-sized the pencil to fit with the clothespin.

Here is the finished product! Mom can also make use of this on her desk or even add a magnet to the back to hang on the fridge. I think it be cute to make a magnets for each kid to hold those important papers that need attention (like a field trip slip). I’ll show you how to do something similar in the next project.

Do not disturb. We can go one step further and add words to the pencil.
Again, I open up the Pencil file. This time I chose the size I wanted the pencil to be. I write the phrase or name that I want displayed on the pencil and lay it on top of the pencil image using my Pazzels software. This time I re-size the text to fit my image.

I decided to make this pencil in to a door sign that the student can use to let his family know that he is busy studying.

Both pencils were made using cardstock. I applied decoupage to both to make them more sturdy.
