Shakin’ It Up

Shakin’ It Up

Today let’s use an old idea to make something new. Instant photos have become the rage as of late. I have chosen to use “instant film” to make greeting cards.

In the Pazzles’ Craft Room Library you will find a pre-designed scrapbook title named “Snapshots.” I used only the “instant film” piece of this title for my card. I increased the picture to 3 inches wide. That is a good size to fit on a 4.5 X 6 inch card.

We can make it even more festive by adding confetti to the “picture.” This means that the photo portion of the “instant film” needs a “window.” You will see that I cut out a rectangle where the “photo” portion is represented. I re-purposed the plastic cover from an empty greeting card box. I did cut the plastic sheet with my Pazzles’ Vue. I experimented with blade depths and pressures, as well as the number of passes needed to cut the plastic.

Next I added foam tape to the back, outside edge of the instant film. This raises the picture and allows for the confetti to move.

You will see that I made a plain picture as well as some with words at the bottom. The words add a tad bit more fun. Be sure to cut out the word at the same time as cutting the instant film piece.

As a final touch, I complimented the picture with a paper cut synonymous with the theme.

The possibilities are endless! Which event will you celebrate next?
